Picking Grapes

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you choose the wineries?

We can assist you in choosing wineries as we certainly have some favorites. Also keep in mind the distance and driving time between wineries. This will help keep you on schedule.  There are over 200 wineries, some on the East side of town and others on the West.  When booking, we always ask for preferences and then we'll work together to create your perfect wine tasting experience!

Are wine tasting fees included?

No. You should expect to pay tasting fees at the wineries.  Tasting fees typically run about $20-$35+ per person, per winery.  Most wineries will waive these fees with purchase of wine or if you sign up for their wine club.

What should we wear?

Springtime can be warm in the afternoons but also can get quite cool in the evenings as the sun starts to fade. Summertime can get very hot.  We recommend bringing layers to take off (and put back on) as the weather changes throughout the day.

Is lunch included?

When booking your tour, you have the option of  including a deli lunch to enjoy at a winery picnic area. Deli lunches can be pre ordered for an additional fee. If Deli sandwiches are not your thing, you are more than welcome to bring your own food or enjoy one of our wonderful winery restaurants sprinkled throughout our area as well. When booking, we can discuss which food options work best for you.

Are there other options than wineries?

Paso Robles has lots of  amazing experiences for all ages and preferences. We can book any kind of experience for you and your group, including tasting spirits, beer, cider, and even olive oil.

Do you pick us up at our accommodations?

Yes! We can pick up anywhere in the Paso Robles, Templeton or Atascadero area. A mileage fee will apply if your accommodations are farther than 15 miles outside of the North County area.

Are reservations required at each winery?

Yes, reservations are required at (almost) all wineries.  Please make sure to call and schedule as walk ins are not always allowed.  Our wine country is getting busier every year and our local wineries have had to implement reservation systems in order to help keep your tastings organized, pleasant, and attentive.  Please note:  Tasting times have increased at each winery, so appointments are mostly scheduled for 60-90 minutes (an hour for tasting and 15 mins for checkout). Lunch also should be taken into consideration.

Do you supply anything to drink?

Yes, we supply chilled bottled water, sparkling water, and sodas on both our half day and full day excursions.

Can we play our own music?

Yes! Our vehicle is fitted with bluetooth capabilities so you can hook up your devices and listen to your preference of music.

How many wineries will I visit?

You will visit anywhere from 2-4 wineries in your day, depending upon where you are picked up, which package you selected, which wineries are on your itinerary, how long you stay at each winery and what you do for lunch and travel distance between selected venues.

How long will we spend at each winery?

There really is no set time.  Some winery experiences take a bit longer than others.  The average experience is between 60-90 mins.  You stay maybe longer if you decide to stay for lunch or take a tour.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you should wish to cancel, we require a 48 hour notice. There are no refunds if you are a no-show or cancel the day of.  We are here to help you have a wonderful day and we are certain that you will, However, we do ask that you be mindful of your consumption. Should we observe, or be notified by a tasting room server, that anyone in your party is becoming too "intoxicated" to continue, we reserve the right to return to you to your accommodations without refund.

*NOTE: there will be a $200 cleaning fee for any unfortunate accidents made by anyone in your party inside our vehicle. Those fees will be requested before drop off to your hotel.  Just please be aware of your alcohol consumption.

Are your tours dog-friendly?

We do welcome well-behaved, clean, and brushed dogs on our tours and are happy to work with you to build your perfect dog-friendly wine country day.  Please note that not all wineries welcome dogs (unless they are service dogs), so please check when making your reservations.

*NOTE: There will be an additional fee of $150 if the dog has an "unfortunate" accident of any kind in the vehicle payable before drop off to your hotel.
